The course has helped me think about trying to calm or distract myself using crafts or breathing. I remember to do my deep breaths.

The course was carried out superbly, very detailed explanation and examples. Notes were shared out with the group with an option to take photos and go over anything you were not sure on again.

 

The props that were given were very handy and have become part of my day to day, I really enjoyed my experience.

 

It's changed everything for me, I feel I can speak more clearly and openly, I've found myself thinking before taking actions, whereas in the past I would of done things without thinking about it.

I feel much more aware of the low level stress that I was carrying without noticing; my jaw isn’t as tight now, my breathing is better and I’m more in tune with myself. I’ve been really reflective on the times when my lid has flipped and quick to apologise when it’s been ‘the straw that broke the camel’s back’ that bore the brunt of it .

The course has really reminded me and reinforced that my daughter just needs support to calm down and when she's very cross it's not her fault. I'm thinking more about how she can have more quiet time; I think she gets sensory overload and her brain over analyses everything so sometimes not having quiet is the last straw. It has given me a deeper understanding of my daughter's emotions and when to talk or when to give her the appropriate tools to calm down and regulate her emotions. 

 

I feel that we have been noticing situations before they reach a heightened state more and more as the weeks have gone on. I think we have been much more positive about natural reactions to things, more accepting of our emotions, and have been able to be clearer with each other about what we need.

Thank you for teaching me all of the different breathing techniques, I will not forget them and they will help me a lot.

 

Also thank you for showing us those crafts, they were so creative. I've loved all of them, so I cant choose my favourite. I look at them and remember the things we learnt. I think mummy learnt a lot too.

We have found it both fun and informative. As a family, we just needed to take stock, spend some quality time together and find some techniques for dealing with emotions that sometimes got out of hand.


This programme has made us realise and do this, but in a good way! We have all learned to be more forgiving and to use the ‘tools’ and science behind the programme to help us all know how to deal with things. Amanda is both lovely and knowledgable. She explains everything clearly and at a level for adults and kids to follow easily. I think we all feel happier and more confident as a family, which is amazing!
